Homeschool Newbie: Trying to Do It All
Loving It! šš
Well guys⦠I went into this homeschooling thing telling myself Iād stay super organized. My big plan? Prep 4 weeks of work at a time. Sounds doable, right?
But then my brain (you know, the one that never shuts off š
) decided, āHmm, 6 weeks would feel even better⦠especially since vacation is right after school starts.ā That way, I wouldnāt have to stress about school while we were gone.
And hereās the kicker⦠I didnāt stop at 6 weeks. Nope. Iāve got 8 weeks prepped and readyāand Iām still going strong! At this point, itās almost a game to see just how many weeks I can get ahead.
Now, letās be realāthere will be changes along this journey (who am I kidding, there will be lots of changes š¤£). But for now, I feel like Iām nailing it⦠or at least giving it my best shot, which totally counts, right?
Hereās my system (and I have to admit, I shocked myself with this one):
⨠Iāve got a folder for each day of the week with all the work they need tucked inside.
⨠Their binders hold two weeks of work at a time, because some courses donāt let me just pull one lesson at a time.
⨠Each week has four days of schoolwork stapled, color-coded, and ready to roll.
⨠When they finish a dayās lesson, they know exactly whatās nextāno guessing, no chaos, no āMom, what do I do now?ā šÆ
Honestly, I had to stop and give myself a little pat on the back (or toot my own horn šŗ) because this system is actually working! I never thought Iād be the āorganized homeschool mom,ā but here we areāand Iām kinda proud of it.
I have a link below with a video of how I have their binders set up. If you have questions, drop them in the commentsāIād love to help or inspire another homeschool newbie whoās just starting out.
This adventure with my boys is already turning into something special, and I canāt wait to see where it takes us. š
Happy Homeschooling, friends! š”šāļø
